Braking technique is the single biggest lap-time factor most players ignore. Brake in a straight line before the corner, not while turning — trail braking is an advanced skill, but even basic straight-line braking discipline will fix most of your inconsistency. Look further ahead on the track than feels natural; your hands will follow your eyes, and staring at the apex instead of the horizon causes late corrections.
Racing lines matter more than raw throttle control. Take corners wide-in, clip the apex, and exit wide to carry maximum speed onto the following straight. Practice one track in isolation until your inputs become muscle memory before jumping into a full championship.
Don’t underestimate your setup screen. Tire pressure, gear ratios, and downforce settings can turn an unstable car into a predictable one. And if you’re playing with assists on, turn off traction control gradually as your skill improves — it’s training wheels, not a permanent feature.
